 A board certified neurosurgeon, Dr. Garzon-Muvdi's clinical subspecialty is the surgical management of brain and skull base tumors. Dr. Garzon-Muvdi's is an associate professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Garzon-Muvdi received his MD from Universidad Autonoma De San Luis Potosi in Mexico. He earned his Master of Science at Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio. He completed a residency in neurosurgery and postdoctoral fellowship in neuro-oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his residency in skull base surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
