EVC Policy

Appropriate and effective development and dissemination of vaccine policy is critical to ensure high-quality vaccination programs. Within the Emory Vaccine Center, research and outreach in this area is conducted through the Vaccine Policy Program.  

Robert A. Bednarczyk, PhD, is the Associate Director for Vaccine Policy in the Emory Vaccine Center. He is an Associate Professor in the Hubert Department of Global Health and Department of Epidemiology at Rollins School of Public Health. Dr. Bednarczyk is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute.  

Dr. Walter Orenstein, Emeritus Professor at Emory University, remains deeply and actively engaged in guiding our policy priorities and contributing his unmatched institutional knowledge in global immunization strategy.  

We are also grateful for the work of a former member of this team, Dr. Saad Omer during his tenure at Emory University, where he spearheaded solutions to solve global problems related to vaccine development, immunization policy, and health services for immunization practices. 

EVC Vaccine Policy faculty work closely with colleagues and groups across Emory University, the US, and globally, to help understand issues around vaccine policy and acceptance.
