Emory Vaccine Center's Contribution to the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases

As President of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) Dr. Walt Orenstein collaborates with the foundation to help educate the public and healthcare providers on how to minimize the burden of infectious diseases that can be prevented by vaccination. Dr. Orenstein among other Emory Vaccine Center faculty take part in an annual 2-day clinical vaccinology course focused on infectious disease prevention, recommended vaccine schedules and policy. This course has reached an international audience and provides education to 150  or more healthcare providers and state health department workers each year.

In addition to providing education the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases provides resources, publications and materials for the promotion of proper vaccine use.
